How distant some memories are, yet at the same time, how near...
Do you truly never grow old, my dear? Is your soul forever young?
Why, then, this weariness in your eyes?
Is it even possible without thinking? When will you do it, then? If you think this much, when? That time- when is it?
I waited for you on the stairways.
To see you for the last time, and
To carve your face into my mind
I asked questions, not caring for the answers.
My heart beat with excitement, a hand gripping
my chest
As time passed...
Some emotions should remain ambiguous; they should move one's soul, feel a pang of grief, and even as years pass, certain moments should always be remembered just like this.
Your heart will overflow with longing, the whole time will converge into that single moment, as the memories you thought you'd forgotten will flash before your eyes, your yearning will intensify, yet you will grow used to this too.
You will get used to it, yes, what other choice do you have?
It doesn't matter at all what happens after me. What comes after me is only your concern. After me is a place where I won't be, a time I won't exist. Nothing of mine, nothing related to me remains there. Beyond me, I no longer exist.
You simply do not exist! A human can't exist in this manner. One who abandons themselves so utterly is deemed to be no-existent.
You must apologize for everything, knowing well that it is too late.
Your apology should sear my heart.
I must press my head harder against your chest so you don't see me cry.
Your chest should be soaked with my tears; your arms should hold me tighter.
Then, I must raise my head timidly.
When I look at your face, I must see that you are crying too.
We don't speak. Or perhaps, we can't. I no longer know how to speak. It feels as though every word I once knew has vanished; whereas, we are only at the beginning of everything. We have exhausted everything and outworn ourselves when we have just begun.
If you had vanished today
or
passed away all of a sudden
Such a death
that even your body couldn't be found
How could you prove
that once upon a time
you existed?
A few lines should have been written for those beautiful hands.
Those hands should have been remembered forever.
Everyone should have wondered about those hands and their owner,
yet no one should have known.
